Fieldwork in České Budějovice Basin, Southern Bohemia

In the mid-April, we started the 10th season of data collection on nesting waders in South Bohemia. The research includes searching for the nests of the Northern Lapwing and the Little Ringed Plover, measuring their egg parameters, incubation rhythms of nesting pairs, nesting success and the activity of hatched chicks using telemetry and miniature accelerometers. It is already clear that the sample in 2019 will be significantly lower than in previous years because of the drought at the start of the breeding season in March and during April.
