A place for butterflies - we create new habitats around the Prokop Valley

In the vicinity of the Prokop Valley in Prague, we not only carry out research focused on population ecology of the Polyommatus thersites and Hipparchia semele, butterflies but we also carry out practical care of selected sites. The aim is to improve the quality of the environment for target butterfly species and other invertebrate species. In cooperation with Ekocentrum Podhoubí, we also educate and involve the general public in our activities through excursions and other popularization activities. Details of the project ““Support of endangered butterfly species based on a combination of flexible habitat management and evaluation of detailed biological data”” supported by Norwegian funds can be viewed on the project website: www.mistopromotyly.cz.
