Field works in oilseed rape fields: investigation of field defects

In cooperation with farm Liběšice, we created a system of artificial field defects for an experiment proposed for the GACR project (Non-crop habitat islands within arable fields: local hotspots of biodiversity and ecosystem services?). Using a combination of different sampling techniques (pitfall traps, vegetation sweeping, pan traps, artificial caterpillars, and seed cards) we collected different insect groups (beneficial as well as pests) and directly measured important ecosystem services (pest predation and weed seed predation).
