Monitoring carabid beetles in arable fields from the Prague City Hall

At the beginning of June, Míra Seidl, Martin Štrobl and Sára Maršíková, together with colleagues from the Systematic and Forensic Entomology group, launched a project aiming to monitor carabid beetles in fields owned by the Prague City Hall that will be converted to organic farming in the following years. Specifically, we will monitor the impact of changes in farming management and landscape structure on carabids. This year, we collected data within intensively managed arable fields prior to any management changes. We hope that we will be able to observe how organic farming benefits carabid beetles in the near future.
