Dragonflies deserve systematic monitoring

Dragonflies are very good indicators of environmental change. The problem is that the vast majority of countries of the world lack systematically collected data on their abundance and only occurrence data or species distributions are typically available. Filip Harabiš has joined an international initiative aiming at the systematic monitoring of dragonflies on a global level. Experts from all over the world developed the first product of this project - a publication in the top-ranked scientific journal Bioscience: Bried et al. (2020) Towards Global Volunteer Monitoring of Odonate Abundance. Bioscience 70: 914–923.
