We are collaborating with Prof. E. N. Jellen (College of Life Sciences, BYU, Utah, USA) on the project concerning phylogeny of North American Chenopodium album agg. focused especially on diploid species. This project is covered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports grant project (Inter-Excellence, LTAUSA18, Evolution of diploid-polyploid complex of Chenopodium album agg. Joint or parallel evolution of North American and Eurasian species?; PI: Bohumil Mandák) which ends in 2023. Prof. Jellen already contributed to our Chenopodium sample collection significantly. Brigham Young University is also a contact point from where two expeditions to the south-western United States are planned, during which individuals of C. album s. str. will be collected.
