The outputs arising from four research activities were presented on the conference Zoological days 2016 which was held at the Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia and at Biological Centre CAS in České Budějovice on 11-12 February 2016. Petr Musil gave an oral presentation on the effect of alternative pond management on nesting populations of water birds. Zuzana Musilová and her team gave a poster presentation on the effect of habitat conditions on long-term local changes of wintering areas of water birds. Poster presentation gave also Pavel Jakubec and Jan Růžička - they described potential distribution and causes of endangerment of selected carrion beetles of genus Nicrophorus (Coleoptera: Silphidae) in central Europe. Preliminary results from the fourth mapping of breeding birds in the Czech Republic were presented by Karel Štastný and Vladimír Bejček.
