Abstract:
New framework outlines socioeconomic resilience to climate change. Reducing climate-damaging actions, adapting to anticipated consequences, and bolstering socio-economic resilience are increasingly pressing societal needs. The EU-funded CROSSEU project provides a climate-sensitive framework to guide investment decisions, adaptation and mitigation strategies, and policy responses to climate change. This initiative aims to enhance understanding of the socioeconomic risks and response options associated with climate change impacts in Europe, including the post-COVID-19 societal-environmental transformation. CROSSEU integrates complex information from climate risk datasets and non-climatic sectoral data using demand-driven climatic and socio-economic pathways. By bridging scientific insights into the economic impacts of climate change, CROSSEU offers practical recommendations for political and societal action.
