Abstract:
The project focuses on the spread of invasive alien species in relation to tourism, landscape fragmentation, and the use of ornamental plants and aquatic cultures. Its main objective is to change the perception of this issue among both professional and general audiences and to reduce the spread of invasive species into the natural environment.
Key target groups include professionals such as garden and landscape architects and green space managers, who play a significant role in influencing biodiversity. The project will provide them with scientifically grounded information and practical recommendations, with an emphasis on linking scientific knowledge with current practices in the establishment and management of green spaces.
The project also includes educational and awareness-raising activities aimed at the general public, including children. It promotes an interdisciplinary approach and cooperation across professional and interest groups.
The project outputs will contribute to more responsible selection of species in plantings, reduce their spread into natural ecosystems, and strengthen both prevention and management of invasive alien species.
