The ECOSEVA project focuses on developing joint Czech-German educational activities on ecosystem services of urban watercourses and the impacts of urbanisation on aquatic ecosystems.
The project aims to create shared educational programmes and methodologies for university students and water management professionals, helping them better understand the effects of urbanisation on aquatic environments and the possibilities for their protection and restoration. ECOSEVA combines theoretical teaching with laboratory and field training, promotes the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and blue-green infrastructure, and develops innovative approaches to ecosystem service assessment. The project includes professional courses, workshops, conferences, digital learning materials, and a web-based mapping portal. A strong emphasis is placed on cross-border cooperation, capacity building, and lifelong learning in the field of water ecosystem protection.
