How to choose your supervisor & topic
In the application you have to state your prospective supervisor, department and dissertation thesis topic. There is a list of topics for the academic year 2020/2021 below. If there is not only a supervisor but also a consultant (adviser), it means that you will work in cooperation with both of them. Do not forget to state your consultant in the application, too.
If you have your own research idea, you can ask a supervisor (find the List of supervisors of your desired study programme) to announce a topic for you.
The entrance examination is points awarded interview, which proves your research interests (20 points) and English language skills (10 points). We also accept English certificates at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Foreign applicants are allowed to ask for online examination (Skype, videoconference) until April 1st. The result will be announced online in your e-application.
Before issuing of the Letter of acceptance, the verification of your master’s diploma is required (so-called nostrification or evaluation). This is administrated by the Rectorate. Find the relevant information here:
Note: The nostrification process takes usually 30 days, but maybe you will need to obtain Apostille or Superlegalization in the country of origin of your diploma first. Please begin with nostrification on time as it may cause a delay with your Letter of acceptance and thus a delay of your visa.
To become a student of the faculty and start your studies you have to register on the day of enrolment, which is stated in the Letter of acceptance. Your documents must be complete and the tuition fee 5000 CZK must be payed (at the cash desk in SIC building or by bank transfer with your registration number as a specific symbol).
Full-time students are awarded with basic scholarship 9300 – 13000 CZK monthly. The details and extraordinary scholarships are stated in the Dean’s regulation no. 12/2019. To increase your basic scholarship, you can become a Leading research group member or apply for the Internal grant.
