First European formalized vegetation classification using floodplain forests as a model vegetation type

We developed the first European formalized classification of vegetation of floodplain forests and alder carr. The proposed classification provides scientific basis for the necessary improvements of the habitat classification systems used in European nature conservation. In particular, it may be used for modification of the EUNIS habitat classification.
