Programme: Standard projects GAČR
Project coordinator: FES CZU
Project leader: doc. Dr. Ing. Zhongbing Chen
Contact person: Mgr. Michal Brož
Project schedule: 2022 - 2024
Total project budget: 6 353 000 CZK
Project aim:
The aim of the proposed project is to explore the effect of rhizosphere micro-interface on pesticides mobility and transformation in wetland system, and explore the mechanisms of pesticides transformation processes at the symbiotic interface of mycorrhiza fungi.
Abstract:
Wetland acting as a buffer zone has been exhibiting itself a great potential to remove pesticides from agricultural runoff via the wetland plants, substrate, and the associated microorganisms. However, the micro-interface effects of rhizosphere on pesticide removal in wetland systems are yet poorly understood. This project aimed to reveal the effect of the micro-interface rhizosphere on pesticide mobility and transformation in wetland system. Therefore, hydroponic experiments will be carried out to study plant response changes and pesticide mobility characteristics at rhizosphere micro-interface (water/roots). Rhizobox experiment will be conducted to study pesticide transformation behavior and changes of microbial responses in the rhizosphere micro-interface (soil/roots). Tissue culture and soil culture experiments will be conducted to explore the mechanisms of pesticide transformation processes at the symbiotic interface of mycorrhiza fungi. The project will provide a fundamental basis on the mechanism of pesticide mobility and transformation at wetland rhizosphere micro-interface.
