The Czech-German Interreg project called Importance of water eDucation in EuropeAn elbe/Labe region (IDEAL) officially started on June 11, 2025 with a kick-off meeting of the partners at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences CZU Prague. Representatives of the Technical University of Dresden, DWA, the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP), the Water Association of the Czech Republic (CzWA) and the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague discussed the tasks, concrete steps and plans of the three-year project. The EU cross-border project Interreg Czech-Saxony 2021-2027 is financed by the Saxony Development Bank from EU funds under the heading "European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg)". The main task of the new Saxon-Czech project is the joint cross-border protection of the waters of the Elbe, the largest Czech river.
