Revision of Apteroloma (Coleoptera: Agyrtidae) in Mexico, with descriptions of two new species

Our new paper is out! This time, we revisited the taxonomy of the carrion beetle genus Apteroloma in Mexico.

In this study, we recognize seven species, including two new ones: Apteroloma newtoni from La Malinche, Tlaxcala, and Apteroloma sciakyi from Cofre de Perote, Veracruz. The Mexican species are associated with isolated, high-elevation mountain systems.

We also examined the status of previously recognized subspecies, recognizing them as a distinct species. For all species, we provide redescriptions, illustrations of their external morphology and genital structures, an identification key for adults, and updated distribution maps.
