The research is focused on the application of geoinformation technologies, remote sensing and spatially explicit modelling in environmental disciplines. Typical study programme directions using satellite and aerial data (multispectral, hyperspectral, radar / lidar), unmanned systems and other spatial data include, for example, geohazard research, spatio-temporal landscape changes, research on crop structure and health, research into the impact of practical environmental measures in the landscape, climate change research and spatially explicit modelling in biogeography and ecology. An integral part is the focus on the impact of spatial data quality and evaluation scales on the results of environmental research.
