We’ve just launched our new website, “Lapwings Tracks”, where we bring you a detailed insight into the life of two unique wader species – the Northern Lapwing and the Eurasian Woodcock.
On the website, you can follow in real time the movements of the transmitter-equipped individuals, their behaviour during breeding, and their migration routes. The positions of specific birds are updated daily, and each individual comes with a profile. You'll also find a blog where we explain in detail key aspects of the life of the monitored species.
The collected telemetry data will be used to assess habitat quality and the risks these birds face in landscapes affected by water loss. The website is part of a project supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic.
