The first joint meta-analysis published by Tiit Teder and Michal Knapp

After a long period of peer review troubles, we finally managed to publish our first joint meta-analysis. The article, entitled “Sublethal effects enhance detrimental impact of insecticides on non-target organisms: A quantitative synthesis in parasitoids” was published in the journal Chemosphere. Our study shows that various types of insecticides differ in their consequences for the reproductive potential of beneficial parasitoids. In addition, we show a systematic effect on the sex ratio of the offspring of insecticide-affected females. Thus, the reproductive potential of the affected parasitoids is reduced not only by decreasing the amount of eggs produced, but also by increasing the relative proportion of males among their offspring.
