Our new article analyzing old forensic cases from Switzerland is out. This is the second part of the series focusing on some specific, and often overlooked groups of insects like beetles, vasps and butterflies.
Exciting news from our team! Our new article has just been published: "All insects matter: a review of 160 entomology cases from 1993 to 2007 in Switzerland—Part II". This time, we dive into the fascinating world of beetles, wasps, and moths, and their sometimes surprising role in forensic cases. Based on real investigations, we show how these often-overlooked insects can provide valuable clues in crime scene analysis. The paper is dedicated to the memory of the late Claud Wyss, one of the founding fathers of forensic entomology in Switzerland, who generously allowed us to work with his meticulous database and collection, now housed at the Museum of Zoology in Lausanne.
