Come join our newest project, which aims to explore where in Prague do fireflies occur.
Let's map the occurrence of fireflies in the capital! These luminescent beetles are currently threatened worldwide mainly by light pollution and habitat destruction. Let's try to discover where they can be found in Prague. When you go home or just for a walk in the evening and come across a firefly, take a picture of it, record the exact coordinates and upload your observations to either our Facebook or iNaturalist page. The data obtained from you will provide very valuable information, which will serve as a basis for measures to stop the loss of these luminous beetles in the future.
