Biodiversity-friendly green roofs: from theory to practice

At the end of June, we successfully completed a project funded by the Czech Technology Agency (TA CR) aimed at enhancing biodiversity on green roofs. Among the project's main outputs are two functional prototypes representing model biodiversity-friendly green roofs. The first is a newly established roof incorporating a combination of practices designed to support biodiversity. Meanwhile, the second prototype is an improved design to an old green roof practice, modified through targeted interventions to enhance conditions for plants, pollinators, and other invertebrates.
