At this year's international conference of Scandinavian and German-speaking ecologists (NSO–GfÖ) in Denmark, our team delivered a total of 7 oral presentations and 5 posters. The topics ranged from biodiversity conservation in agricultural landscapes through the creation of novel habitats, biodiversity in photovoltaic power plants, the impacts of artificial light on insects, and freshwater ecology, to insect ecophysiology and the mechanisms underlying insect success or failure under stressful environmental conditions. And since conferences are not only about science, we also enjoyed the social side of the event, including organizing a private barbecue for 25 participants. We returned home not only with new contacts and scientific insights, but also with many shared experiences and memorable moments.
