Convective and stratiform precipitation characteristics in an ensemble of regional climate model simulations

A paper by Jan Kyselý et al. has been recently released online in Climate Dynamics

In the paper we apply an algorithm for disaggregating observed precipitation data into predominantly convective and stratiform, and evaluate biases in characteristics of parameterized convective and stratiform precipitation in an ensemble of 11 regional climate model simulations for recent climate in Central Europe.

The results support previous findings that errors in precipitation characteristics in climate models are mainly related to drawbacks in the representation of convection.
