The IENE 2024 conference focused on Biodiversity and the future of transport - photo gallery

The Faculty of Environmental Sciences, together with the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic, hosted the IENE 2024 (Infrastructure & Ecology Network Europe) international conference on Biodiversity and the Future of Transport on the campus of CZU from September 9 to 13, 2024. A network of specialists dealing with various aspects of transport, infrastructure and ecology brought leading experts from the field to Prague. The conference program included plenary presentations by leading experts in the field, including a speech by Dutch sustainability researcher and activist Gaya Herrinton, thematic lectures, interactive discussions, poster presentations and field trips to best practice examples.

The participants mainly dealt with the following topics:
Challenges and opportunities – new directions for the development of transport and energy infrastructure and their impact on biodiversity and ecological connectivity.
Innovation – measures leading to the prevention, reduction or compensation of negative impacts of transport and energy infrastructure.
Research and monitoring – presentation of studies focused on the impacts of transport and energy infrastructure on biodiversity and the effectiveness of measures.
Education, public awareness or capacity building.
