Ezequiel González co-authored a study recently published in the journal Landscape and Urban Planning (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.landurbplan.2020.103816). Although fewer arthropod individuals and lower arthropod species richness were recorded on green roofs neighbouring Córdoba city compared to the ground habitats, arthropod diversity on green roofs was still striking (almost 400 species have been recorded on the roofs and over 600 species on the ground). The arthropod diversity was positively affected by the patch size (green roof area) and negatively by the degree of urbanization (proportion of streets in neighbourhood). The photos shows some of the studied roofs, including Ezequiel’s own house (but this didn’t represent any conflicts of interest!).
