In February and early March, management interventions aimed at supporting biodiversity continued at the Makču Pikču site. Activities included litter removal and the thinning of shrub vegetation in the southeastern part of the site, near the bike cross track. These interventions increase habitat heterogeneity and contribute to the formation of a more diverse habitat mosaic, creating suitable conditions for a wide range of organisms. Such conditions enhance the capacity of the site to provide refuge for numerous species, including insects and other faunal groups. We thank the students of the Nature Conservation programme at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, for their valuable assistance in implementing these activities.
