Biodiverse green roofs supporting natural plant and insect communities

As part of the project “Biodiverse green roofs supporting natural plant and insect communities” (TAČR SS07020238), in collaboration with GreenVille s.r.o. and the Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia, we aim to transform roofs into havens for insects. The project involves implementing several exemplary green roofs or improving already existing ones. For example, at the Nový Smíchov shopping centre, we established 80 experimental plots to investigate whether existing green roofs can be improved by removing moss, adjusting substrate pH, or sowing seeds of exciting plant species native to Prague that are not yet present on the roof.
