During our Alpine field trip, we combined scenic hikes and swimming with the opportunity to present our research activities at three excelent scientific institutions in Switzerland and Austria (WSL – Martin Gossner; Agroscope – Felix Neff; University of Salzburg – Jan Habel). We also collected ladybirds for future phylogeographic studies. The trip was joined by our new colleague, Carlos Hernández-Castellano, whose research focuses on plant–bee interactions and interspecific relationships among hymenopterans. Welcome to the team, Carlos!
