As part of an international team of ecologist focusing the many effects of urban growth and expansion on the different components of biodiversity, Federico Morelli and Jiri Reif (Czech Republic) are the Topic Editors of the Research Topic (RT) “Partitioning the effects of urbanization on biodiversity: Beyond wildlife behavioural responses to a multilevel assessment of community changes in taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic diversity” for Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution, in collaboration with Piotr Tryjanowski (Poland), Anders Pape Moller (France) and Madhusudan Katti (USA).
RT aims: to collect a robust set of original scientific evidence, in order to assess the impact of specific elements of urbanization and/or pollution on different and complementary biodiversity metrics.
