Chaitanya Raj joined AQUARIUS as a PhD researcher in early October 2026. He completed his master’s degree at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, where he studied compound dry and hot extremes. His work on these events in central India was published in Theoretical and Applied Climatology. He subsequently gained research experience at IIT Jodhpur and IIT Hyderabad, working most recently on subseasonal-to-seasonal forecasting of heatwaves over India. A manuscript from this work is currently under review. We look forward to working together and exploring new questions in hydroclimatic extremes and forecasting. Welcome to Prague, Chaitanya!
