Top-cited paper in Soil Use and Management for 2023

We are pleased to announce that our article “Management of a contaminated mine soil: Effect of soil water content on antimony and arsenic immobilisation by iron-based amendments and biochar composites”, published in Soil Use and Management (British Society of Soil Science), has been recognised as one of the top 10 most-cited papers published by the journal in 2023.

This achievement highlights the relevance of our work on improving remediation strategies for contaminated mine soils and the growing scientific interest in the role of water conditions in the effectiveness of iron-based and biochar immobilising agents. The study was carried out as part of the doctoral research of our PhD student, underscoring the strong contribution of early-career researchers in advancing soil remediation science.
