Information for students of FES

Dear students

Let me address you with important information about teaching in the upcoming academic year 2020/2021 at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences CZU in Prague.

Based on the Regulation No. 12/2020 of the Public Health Authority of the Capital City of Prague, personal presence of students at the universities in the city of Prague has been banned as of 21 September 2020. This regulation, however, does not apply to individual visits to libraries and study rooms, individual consultations, laboratory works with up to 15 people present, practical teaching and exercises, and examinations of up to 10 people. At the same time, in accordance with the Rector's Decision No. 21/2020, until 11 October 2020 all teaching activities at CZU are to take place only contactless (online) using the LMS Moodle and MS Teams platforms.

We are aware of the fact that this is not an easy situation for students and teachers, but I am convinced that together we can manage. We have gained solid experience with distance learning in the summer semester, and thus we are well prepared for a similar situation in terms of both technical and pedagogical support. Although we will miss your personal presence in our classrooms, we do believe that through this experience we become stronger and more united.

Please rest assured that we will keep you updated on all developments in the current situation. Please follow the faculty and CZU websites for up-to-date information in this matter. (https://www.fzp.czu.cz/en/, https://aktualne.czu.cz/en/ ). Information concerning the organization and conditions of your study will be sent to your university email addresses soon. Course guarantors will inform you on the conditions of study no later than in the first week of the winter semester. For information concerning your study, please contact your Study Officers or the Head of the Study Department Ing. Renata Berankova (berankovar@fzp.czu.cz, +420 224 383 765, https://www.fzp.czu.cz/en/r-9408-study). In case you need help with study and psychological issues, you can also contact the Study Counsellor Klára ten Donkelaar, MA. (tendonkelaar@fzp.czu.cz, +420 224 383 625, https://www.fzp.czu.cz/en/r-9408-study/r-9496-information-for-students/r-13237-counselling-for-students).

I wish you good luck and good health in the coming period. We look forward to meeting you at FES, may it be now online, or, hopefully, personally later on.

Sincerely,

prof. RNDr. Vladimír Bejček, CSc., dean
