The TRACER project culminated in a conference in Brussels

The three-year TRACER international project culminated in a conference in Brussels on September 20 and 21, 2022. The main goal of the TRACER project (Smart strategies for the transition in coal intensive regions) is to support the development of nine European coal regions - to start or streamline their transformation in the field of energy, economy and social environment so that after the end of brown coal mining (approx. 2030 – 2050) were all systems in these regions self-sufficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly. The TRACER project is supported by the EU - Horizon 2020 program (grant No. 836819) and includes 15 partners from 12 European countries.

The award for positive impact on the community at the conference was given to Markéta Hendrychová for the revitalization of a mining area in Northwest Bohemia, Czechia.

The final press release is available HERE.

The final conference took place in the premises of NOVOTEL Brussels City Centre, the first day was dedicated to the investor workshop, the final day to the results of the project itself and a discussion on the challenges and opportunities of the transformation.
