Insect monitoring in photovoltaic power plants

The monitoring of insects during the first year of the project "Optimising biodiversity support for solar parks in the open countryside" has been successfully completed. At ten photovoltaic plants, we sampled arthropods with vegetation sweepings in two periods and pitfall traps for one month. Additionally, detailed monitoring of butterflies and hoverflies was carried out at the solar parks. In the second half of summer and autumn, we will proceed with sample identification, data analysis, and presenting the first results, for example, at the GfÖ 2024 conference in Germany. A big thank you to Photon Energy Czech Republic and their partners for excellent cooperation in field data collection!
