Our project group started a new field experiment at brownfield in Ústí nad Labem Region in cooperation with Juros company and Dekonta company, the project partners. Improved compost recipe was used to experimentally verify that composted sewage sludge represents a quality product applicable to brownfield soils. Moreover, using a local waste sludge for remediation of degraded soils in the same region provides economic benefits. Based on the metal(loid) behaviour under field conditions and soil characteristics determination, the environmental impacts of the composted sludge will be evaluated.
