Perennial experimental wildflower strips

In September, we completed the final data collection from our experimental perennial wildflower strips across the Czech Republic. We are now in the data analysis phase, and preliminary results suggest that adding grasses to the mixture of nectar-producing plants does not have a significant impact on wild pollinators on wildflower strips across time. However, for many species, the species and functional diversity of the sown plants is crucial. From the perspective of plant community development, it appears that wildflower strips with a high proportion of grasses have the greatest potential to resist the spread of undesirable perennial weeds.
