On Thursday, 3 September 2026, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, welcomed Prof. Dr. Ursula Koike of Kumamoto University, Japan, who works at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Literature, School of Social Innovation, and Center for International Education.
The CZU side was represented by Vice-Rector for International Relations prof. Martin Hanel, Vice-Dean for International Relations Roman Juras, Hana Honsová of the FZP International Relations Office, and colleagues from the Faculty of Economics and Management, Jan Hučko and Martin Kozák.
Prof. Koike presented Kumamoto University and possible fields of future cooperation. The discussion focused on concrete forms of partnership, short-term student exchanges as well as exchange study stays lasting one semester. As Prof. Koike summarised after the meeting, there are several possible forms of collaboration and she would be glad to send Kumamoto University students to Prague and to welcome CZU students in the future, both universities share a number of study fields.
We are delighted by this new cooperation, which will open doors for students from Japan to come to our university and give our students the chance to explore Japan.
