For the second time, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from the University of Salford, who visited as part of their Field Trip program. During their stay in Prague, they conducted field data collection in Prague 1, focusing on urban and hydrological aspects of the cityscape, particularly in relation to recent flooding and surface water runoff into the Vltava River.
A highlight of the visit was an inspiring lecture by Professor Evaristo Zas Gómez from the University of Coruna on "Contemporary Public Space in Spain." The lecture sparked engaging discussions and provided new perspectives for both our students and guests.
At the Water Research Institute TGM they visited the hydraulics laboratory with a physical model of the Děčín navigation lock and the calibration station for hydrometric propellers.
Beyond academic activities, we introduced our visitors to our campus. Thanks to our colleague from the Department of Applied Ecology, they had the opportunity to explore the Environmental Studies Pavilion, while our faculty ambassadors guided them around the university facilities.
This visit was a fantastic opportunity for international knowledge exchange and networking. We look forward to more collaborations in the future!
